The individual under review is my sister inlaw, who possesses an interesting and unique journey, and she is currently working as a family nurse practitioner (FNP).

Why: I believe Modesta has a motivating story that can be used to motivate individuals, especially young generations who are in the process of pursuing their careers, based on her journey from a small town in Nigeria to a successful healthcare professional in a different country.

1. Where did you grow up, and where were you born? - I grew up in Ebonyi State- Nigeria

, and I was born in a city called Abakaliki, which is in Ebonyi State, the country is Nigeria.

2. What school did you attend? I attended many schools at different levels. My primary school is Station Urban School, Abakaliki-Ebonyi State

3. What are some of your hobbies? - Walking, watching TV, and family time

4. What is your current profession? - HealthCare- Family nurse practitioner (FNP)

5. When you were a child, what was your biggest dream? - becoming a pilot

6. When you were a child, what was your biggest fear? - failing an examination

7. What is your proudest accomplishment? – Earning a master’s degree in nursing

9. What is the best advice you ever received? – Advice from the late father about praying for wisdom in times of trouble.

10. What is your definition of happiness? – Happiness is achieved when I have a balance of blessings, achievements, emotions, and life satisfaction.

11. What advice do you want to pass along to your child? – Be focused on what you do, do your best and pray for God’s guidance.

12. Do you have any regrets? – None, life is a school, we learn each day.

Modesta's early years were characterized by a love of strolling, watching TV, and spending time with relatives. This hard work and determination led to another great achievement, obtaining a master’s degree in nursing. “My greatest accomplishment has been to get my master’s degree in nursing,” Modesta says with confidence in her words. This turned out to be a turning point in her live and paved way to her career path as an FNP.

Challenges and Personal Insights


Modesta Malu had decided to change her environment and routine by relocating to another area for school and to gain better employment opportunities. She had to adapt to new educational paradigm and even health care and cultural expectations that, of course, created much stress. The family and friends equipped her with words of encouragement and helped her with chores that could interfere with the journey. They believed in her competence which in turn gave her the morale to come through the challenges that she faced while practicing her profession.

Modesta remembers a favorite saying of her late father, “Pray for wisdom in the event of hard times.” To her, these words were powerful because they gave her a sense of direction and optimism in even the most desperate of situations. Modesta turns to these knowledgeable words for direction and assistance any time she has a task in front of her or feels overwhelmed by the events in her life. This type of support has served to build her faith in the power of her heavenly assistance to provide her with the necessary strength to face these challenges with hope and determination.


Philosophy and Personal Reflections


As pointed out by Modesta Malu, happiness is more so the process of trying to achieve equilibrium in different aspects of life as opposed to the state. “There is a sense of happiness when one gets a balance of blessings, achievements, feelings, and life satisfaction.” While she continues the pursuit of happiness as a goal, Modesta’s way of sustaining this balance show her readiness for the next phase of life. Modesta stresses three essential elements when it comes to teaching her child wisdom: trust, labor, and focus. Some of her words of wisdom include: "Be focused on what you do, do your best, pray for God's guidance." All these are principles she holds in high esteem as she has embraced them to shape her life. These elements of focus, effort, and faith have helped Modesta in his accomplishments and development.

Despite all the challenges and difficulties that Modesta has faced, she has no regrets. She looks at every opportunity, be it good or bad, as a lesson and a form of growth due to her positivity and progressive attitude. Modesta’s philosophy of life revolves around the principles of harmony, education, continuous learning, and commitment to faith. They represent her understanding of the subtle of success and pleasure: the importance of inner harmony and the determination to achieve one's goals.


Future Plans and Closing Thoughts


Modesta’s currently looks forward to retiring, and when she does, she imagines herself spending a lot of time with friends and family, resting and spoiling herself. "More time with friends and family and quality time with myself," she exclaims when challenged as to what she is looking forward to in future. Moesta wants time to break free and spend more time with her family members after immersing her energy in her job.

Overall, Modesta's story is a testimony to the importance of sticking with one's call, embracing change, and maintaining perseverance amidst hardship. Modesta, therefore, shows great potential and hope to anyone who wants to transform the society. It shows that one can empower themselves and change people's lives for the better even if they are in the lower stage of life, provided they have the right frame of mind and assistance. Modesta's spirit of determination, commitment, and generosity is bound to inspire other people as she looks forward to retirement.
