COM 2480 Online Journalism - An introduction to the rapidly growing field of online journalism. A hands-on course that utilizes standard journalism techniques for research and storytelling, adapting these for the web while also considering legal and ethical aspects of the profession. Storytelling for the web, online news, web layout and other techniques of the online journalist will be covered.

Dr. Tom Kenny is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Communications Department. He teaches courses in media studies and production. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Studies from Long Island University.
Lauren is a sophomore at Molloy and plays for the women's soccer team. She is an elementary education major with a minor in English. One of her goals is to have a full recovery from ACL surgery that she had earlier in the year. Lauren is a huge dog/animal lover and wants to write stories on that!
Brianna is a biology major on the pre-med track. Brianna's main goals are to finish her bachelor's a year early. She is an avid reader and traveler. She yearns to see the world and all its beauty. In this class, Brianna is looking forward to writing about public issues occurring in the world.
Mauricio Cueva is twenty-one years old and currently studying at Molloy University to complete a bachelor’s in speech-language pathology and audiology. He plans to specialize in geriatric speech therapy. He enjoys the cinema and walking with his dog in the park. He wants to write stories that display humanism.

Sofia Alvarez is a senior majoring in Sociology. She plans to go into social work after obtaining her degree. She's interested in writing stories that dive into culture, identity, and social justice. Her goal is to create work that not only informs but also helps readers see things from a new perspective.
Alana majors in Computer Information Systems. Some of her interests include playing the ukulele, singing, and watching a good movie every once in a while. She would love to write feature stories.
Leah Palladino is a sophomore communications major with a minor in journalism. One of her goals is to work for an MLB team. She enjoys going to the beach and spending time with friends. She would also like to write more feature stories.
Adilah Mashriqi is a senior at Molloy University and just walked at her graduation ceremony in Spring 2025 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology. She plans to get her Masters in Education to pursue a career in teaching. She loves to travel and spend time with her friends & family.
Kaitlyn Martinez is a 22-year-old soon-to-be graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Science. She will be continuing her education with a masters to become a social worker. She loves to travel and explore the world.
Lada is a senior studying Psychology and Sociology at Molloy University with a deep interest in understanding human behavior and social systems. She hopes to use her education to bring awareness to mental health issues and advocate for change in communities often overlooked. Her writing focuses on real-life stories that inspire growth, healing, and empowerment.
